22 Traffic Deaths Reported Over Holiday Weekend

PHNOM PENH: Over the three-day Pchum Ben holiday, 22 people died in traffic accidents across Cambodia.

According to a report from the General Commission of the National Police, the first day of holiday travel claimed nine lives in 14 traffic accidents which left 19 injured. On October 14, seven people died in traffic accidents with 22 seriously injured. As people returned home on October 15, six people were killed and 31 seriously injured, 21 of whom were not wearing helmets.

Most of the accidents were caused by collisions, speeding, disrespecting the right-of-way, and drunk driving.
